ANTICIPATED - Elementary Classroom Music & Choir Teacher (Full-Time) Hicksville Public Schools is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic music educator to join our team. This full-time position involves teaching music to students in grades K-5 and fostering a love for music through engaging, standards-aligned instruction. Qualifications: Valid New York State Certification in Music (K-12) required. Strong background in vocal pedagogy, classroom music instruction, and keyboard accompaniment. Experience with Kodály, Orff, and/or Dalcroze methodologies preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) and experience working with special needs students are a plus. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Deliver engaging daily music instruction for students in grades K-5, aligning with district and state standards. Recruit, rehearse, and direct choir ensembles for students in grades 3-5, including weekly rehearsals and multiple public performances. Provide basic piano accompaniment for choir rehearsals and classroom music activities. Incorporate educational technology to enhance the music learning experience. Collaborate with colleagues in a team-oriented district-wide music program.
