Anticipated Vacancy Position: Director of Bands / Music Educator County: Berks Location: Wilson High School, West Lawn, Pennsylvania Description: Wilson High School is seeking a highly-qualified and premier candidate to serve as our next Director of Bands beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Wilson High School is located in West Lawn, Pennsylvania, and is a part of the Wilson School District which is made up of 6,250 students served through five elementary, two middle, and one 2,300 student high school. Responsibilities include directing/facilitating the Symphonic Band, competitive Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Indoor Percussion and Winter Guard programs. Additionally, preparing and accompanying students to various honors festivals, facilitating multiple chamber ensembles, teaching music electives as well as many other managerial, financial, organizational, and logistical duties are expected. The preferred candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with staff, parents, and administration to maximize opportunities for students and must align philosophically with the vision of the music program. Requirements

Qualified applicants should possess:
Previous teaching experience in a High School or Middle School band program
A well-developed pedagogical approach to instrumental music education
The ability to demonstrate expertise on their primary instrument and competence on other band instruments.
Extensive knowledge of advanced band Repertoire (e.g., Level 3 or higher for MS and Level 5 or higher for HS)
A conceptual understanding of music performance evaluation and adjudication
A background in advanced winds/percussion performance
Previous experience working with competitive pageantry arts organizations (i.e., WGI, BOA, DCI, TOB, Cavalcade, etc.)
Marching Arts production design experience is preferred but not required (e.g., drill design, electronics design, lighting design, choreography, arranging, etc.)
