Requirements
New York State Teaching Certification in Music Education K-12 required
• Experience teaching at the middle and/or high school level preferred
• Familiarity with double reeds desirable
• Familiarity with preparing soloists and ensembles for NYSSMA adjudication
• Ability to deliver high quality instruction in instrumental class settings
• Experience working with students with special needs desirable
• Strong knowledge of technology and its integration into the music classroom
• Familiarity with a variety of recommended instructional practices
• Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities
• Applicants should be prepared to audition on their major instrument
