Students in instrumental classes often need support and strategies that differ from those of other students. Use of size, color, pacing, and modality enhance the experience of all students while creating a fair and workable environment for students who need these adaptations to succeed.  Suitable for educators all teaching levels.

Twice-exceptional students who have both intellectual and/or musical gifts and documented disabilities are at-risk in our schools without specific knowledge of their dualism. Clinicians will share specific teaching experiences plus provide session attendees with strategies to assist 2E students receive the support and challenge deserved to optimize their development.

PreK-12 students with emotional and behavioral needs can participate positively in  classroom music with the right strategies in place.  Through discussion of different scenarios and participation activities, presenters will focus session on techniques that  teachers can implement immediately into various music settings to help these students achieve their very best.

Popular clinician shares his multi-level inclusive group setting teaching approach developed from using prosody to convey rhythms to visually impaired students. Utilizing world drumming oral traditions to gain musical skills and understand sophisticated rhythmical concepts, exceptional learners fully experience the joy of playing music together and learning about world cultures.  

STUDENTS ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM IN THE LARGE ENSEMBLE SETTING
