Part-time String Ensemble Teacher - Leave Replacement (September - December) Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities include 16-20 teaching hours per week, spanning 4 days per week Teach violin, viola, cello, and bass in small group ensemble settings Prepare students, 5th-8th Grades, for their winter concerts in December and January Provide basic maintenance and care for school student instrument rentals Develop a strong foundation of musical literacy At The Green Vale School, we inspire and challenge Pre-Nursery through 8th Grade students to be their best, cultivating intellect, character, and confidence as a foundation for success. Requirements
Qualifications
Teaching experience with string ensembles, preferably at the elementary or middle school level
Skilled performing proficiency in a string instrument with proficiency in all string instruments
Experience with preparing students for the annual NYSSMA solo and ensemble festival preferred
An enthusiasm for teaching middle school and elementary students and an understanding of the needs of adolescents as learners
The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students and parents about student learning and growth
