Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Music Teacher to join our team. Responsibilities include teaching general music classes to students from 3K through 5th grade, leading instrumental electives for 4th and 5th graders, preparing students for annual performances, and supporting our bi-weekly school-wide singalong. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate music lessons to students in 3K through 5th grade. - Teach instrumental electives to 4th and 5th-grade students. - Prepare and guide students for high-quality and creative annual performances and shares. - Help to lead a bi-weekly school-wide singalong, a beloved school tradition. - Integrate progressive educational practices in music instruction. - Collaborate with colleagues and administration to enhance the school's music program and contribute to the overall educational experience. - Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State music teaching license.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and pedagogy.
- Ability to sing and play multiple musical instruments
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
- Passion for music education and a commitment to fostering a love of music in all students.
- Experience with Orff instruction is preferred.
