Description
Archbishop Molloy High School, a high-achieving Catholic Marist institution, is seeking a highly qualified and motivated candidate for a full-time tenure track Music teacher position to lead and grow our program beginning in the 2024-25 school year. This position will teach a diverse range of courses including Band/Orchestra, Underclass Chorus, Introduction to Music Theory, and Music Appreciation. Ideal candidates should hold a NYS teacher certification in Music and possess an MA in Music Education from an accredited university, have teaching experience, and possess hands-on experience leading school aged instrumental and choral groups. This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead within one of the most dynamic High Schools in NYC.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Familiarity with and embrace of the Catholic Marist Charism of Archbishop Molloy HS.
- A Master’s Degree in Music Education
- Proven success in teaching in and developing secondary Music education programs
- Passion for nurturing the next generation of musicians and a desire to collaborate with fellow educators
- Proficiency in use of music technology and piano skills
- Enthusiasm for growing our music program and nurturing the growth of new endeavors (Jazz Band, Marching Band, Pep Band)
- Student-centered teaching approach, employing instructional strategies that empower students to identify and solve problems independently
