Zone 1: 2020 Solo Festival Information
For all festivals: Zone 1 will be using Solochair.com to register all entries for 2020 NYSSMA Spring Evaluation Festivals. Please view the “Solochair.com registration information” file at the end of this page if you need help registering an account on Solochair. As per NYSSMA regulations, all entries MUST be submitted no later than six weeks prior to the festival, and checks (made out to NYSSMA) MUST be mailed no later than six weeks prior to the festival to the festival host. PLEASE observe all deadlines so that your students do not have negative consequences.
THE NEW MANUAL (EDITION XXXII), as of July 2nd 2018, IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL NYSSMA SOLO FESTIVALS IN 2020. PLEASE consult the new manual carefully–there have been many changes from the “old” manual.
All-State applications MUST be completed on-line. Please follow the link and the directions which are found on the NYSSMA home page. You may also reach the All-State application site here: http://nyssma2.org/allstate_form1.cfm. If you need help with a NYSSMA member number, please e-mail Stuart Rauch at: srauch@nyssma.org, and he will quickly send you a temporary number.
***ONCE YOU HAVE FILLED THE ALL STATE SHEETS OUT ON LINE, THEY MUST BE PRINTED OUT. THE APPROPRIATE SIGNATURES MUST BE ADDED AND MAILED TO THE FESTIVAL CHAIRPERSON 6 WEEKS BEFORE THE START OF THE FESTIVAL. ALL-STATE SCORES AND EVALUATION SHEETS WILL NOT BE RELEASED TO TEACHERS UNTIL THE ALL-STATE APPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED BY THE FESTIVAL CHAIRPERSON AND/OR ZONE REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE STUDENT(S) IN QUESTION.*** FAILURE TO DO THIS RESULTS IN EMBARRASSMENT FOR YOU AND MORE WORK FOR THE FESTIVAL CHAIR AND ZONE REP.Also, payment for students must be received prior to the festival in order to receive their individual scores and sheets. FEES are as follows: S/E: level 1-4 $16 (piano $22), Level 5-6 $24 (piano $30) All State $30
